GC: Chapter 44

44. Seductive Nymph

JingYuan patted YiHan on the back to help him catch his breath. “How do you feel, HanHan? It’s all my fault. HanHan, does it hurt? Gods, what should I do?” JingYuan worriedly asked. He who’d always been so full of confidence had never felt so helpless before. It was as if anything he did was wrong.

After some more coughing, YiHan eventually recovered. He raised his head and saw JingYuan was there. Upset, he curled his arms around JingYuan’s neck. “Where did you go? Someone was here. They wanted…”

His little one was still willing to hug him! Even after he’d forced a kiss on him! What did that mean? But what was YiHan saying?

“I didn’t go anywhere. I’ve been with you the whole time. Don’t be scared,” said JingYuan.

No one else was in here? JingYuan didn’t leave? Then who was it just now who’d…kissed him…?

!

It was JingYuan! JingYuan kissed him? How could it be? YiHan licked his lips, numbed from the kiss. He stared at JingYuan with disbelieving eyes.

JingYuan didn’t dare to twitch or move. Just like a criminal waiting for judgement, he waited for the little one’s punishment.

Yet…

A bare, dripping body was slowly walking towards him, like a seductive little nymph. Those long and perfect hands reached out for his face. The soft lips he’d tasted just moments before brushed against his. Then, as if shocked, withdrew swiftly.

JingYuan’s eyes bore into the little one timidly observing his reaction. His chest heaved with great might. “HanHan, do you know what you’re doing?” he asked in a coarse whisper. “Do you know who I am?”

When YiHan realised the one who’d kissed him before was JingYuan, he was even more certain this was just a dream. In his mind, the real Mu JingYuan would never have kissed him. YiHan’s heart galloped and pranced. Since it’s all a dream, then he could let himself go for once. Right?

YiHan’s hands stayed on JingYuan’s face. “Mu JingYuan. JingYuan,” he said in low but clear voice.

Having said so, YiHan dipped forward for another peck on JingYuan’s thin lips. He really liked being so intimate with JingYuan. He liked JingYuan’s scent. It’s so wonderful he could have this dream.

JingYuan: “…!”

JingYuan’s rationality which just logged back online was forced offline once more.

He wrapped his arms around the person before him and kissed those irresistible lips again.

YiHan didn’t fight at all this time. In fact, he even opened up his mouth to welcome JingYuan’s invasion, awkwardly but trying hard to reciprocate.

JingYuan’s heart felt as if it had been on a roller coaster the whole night. Up and down, up and down. Now, it was set on ecstasy. His little one didn’t reject his kiss at all when YiHan clearly knew who he was. YiHan was even kissing back. What did this mean?

JingYuan was still wearing the formal suit he wore to the birthday party. After a distressing evening, he didn’t have the brainpower to think about changing. His clothes were now sopping wet from all that scrambling just now. No matter how luxurious a fabric was, it’d turn scratchy once drenched. It’d feel extremely rough and uncomfortable. YiHan didn’t have a single thread on him. He strongly objected to JingYuan’s wet clothes. As they kissed, he kept trying to pull them off JingYuan.

JingYuan’s heart was shocked still. What was his little one doing? But no matter what it was, he should fulfil YiHan’s wishes.

Upon witnessing his boy getting frustrated over his inability to take off the clothes, JingYuan grabbed his shirt by the collar. With a hard yank, he split the shirt in half and tore the fabric sticking to his body away in the simplest and most brutish method available. Soon, his pants followed suit.

GC: Chapter 43

43. Struck by Lightning

JingYuan was frozen. The tiny men representing his desire and his rationality had tumbled into a ball of punches and kicks long ago. In the end, rationality lost.

As if he was possessed, he lowered his head down and…

[500 words have been deemed unsafe for eyes.]

Who’s this? Who’s kissing him? The moment those questions popped up in YiHan’s dazed mind, he sobered up as if someone had just poked him with a whole bed of needles!

His mouth was blocked. He couldn’t speak. He began flailing his arms and feet in panic. Who’s this? Who’s doing this to him again? Is it Feng Qun? Those disgusting “friends” of his? Did they want to do that scary and vile thing to him again? No! No, he’d rather die!

YiHan struggled with all his might. His nails dug out several streams of blood along JingYuan’s neck. Finally, JingYuan snapped out of his fervour. Gods, what had he done? He’d actually taken advantage of the little one when he was drunk. He forced a kiss on YiHan when the other had placed his full trust in him!

JingYuan immediately felt as though he’d been struck by lightning. He hurriedly let go of the boy in his arms. His inebriated mind buzzed. How he wished he could kill himself right then and there! Why couldn’t he control himself? Why did he do something like this? How would his little man look at him now? YiHan must think of him a perverted maniac who takes advantage of others while they’re unable to say no! JingYuan was drowning in despair.

As for YiHan, he was originally sitting in the bathtub with his upper body supported by JingYuan. The moment JingYuan let go, YiHan was caught off guard. With how violently he’d struggled, YiHan’s entire body fell into the tub!

JingYuan didn’t have time to be depressed over self-loathing at such a sight. Panicked, he knelt down and fished YiHan back out of the water. A mouthful of water was spat out of YiHan’s mouth. Choking and coughing, a bright red blush adorned his face.

GC: Chapter 42

42. This Dream’s Wonderful

Once YiHan was done, JingYuan tidied him up. JingYuan was about to carry YiHan back to bed, but the little one started acting restless again. Twisting and turning in his arms, muttering and moaning, “Yuck. I wanna shower. Sticky. I don’t like it.”

JingYuan’s breath stuttered to a stop from YiHan’s wriggling. His lower half was eager to act. He hurriedly held YiHan close to prevent YiHan from slipping onto the floor. “Behave, HanHan. Sleep first. Shower after, okay?” he gently coaxed.

YiHan’s mood soured further, but he stopped struggling any more the moment he heard “behave”. He let out a soft “mn” in response. After a pause, he whispered, “I’m a good boy.”

JingYuan’s heart throbbed. Good boy? His little prince didn’t need to be a good boy! It’s just a shower. What does it matter? Let’s do it!

JingYuan tenderly turned to place YiHan back on the bed. As he walked out of the bathroom, he said, “We’ll take a bath. Wait here a while. I’ll fill the tub up.”

Once YiHan was settled down, JingYuan went back to the bathroom and filled the bathtub with hot water. The temporary steam sauna flushed the alcohol right up into his head. However, he still remembered the little guy who was waiting for his shower service. He stumbled back into the bedroom. Come, it’s time to test his will!

He stripped YiHan’s sleepwear from his body with quivering hands. When YiHan’s nude figure entered his sight, his mind exploded. Heat rushed through his nostrils. He really suspected he’d humiliate himself soon by bleeding through the nose.

JingYuan held himself tight. Slowly, motion by motion, he gathered YiHan into his arms again and swayed back to the bathroom. He looked straight ahead the entire time, using his remaining rationality to supress his desire.  Mentally, he chanted nonstop, “This is HanHan. My little one. Don’t make a single false move. Don’t lose control.”

Nevertheless, that’s just what he thought. When his hand caressed and glided over the bare skin of the one he loved dearly, the trembling coming from his soul was irresistible.

JingYuan’s heart raced. He didn’t know if it was because of the alcohol he had or because of the feast before his eyes. All he knew was he was going mad. This was the person he’d been craving for. This little guy who’s usually covered in thorns and quills was not laying before him with his guard down, without a single thread on him. Unless one’s body had health issues, who could resist that? But he kept repeating to himself: he absolutely cannot lose control. He cannot hurt Bai YiHan.

It was very humid in the bathroom. JingYuan’s clothes were drenched and clinging onto his body. It didn’t feel good, especially his lower body. His pants were achingly tight. Gods, what sweet torment.

YiHan was so comfortable. He was stretched out among hot water. His whole body was relaxed. Warm water flowed around and encompassed him. A familiar and safe presence by his side. Because of the alcohol, his mind and memories were slightly messed up. He did remember the dream he had. The dream where JingYuan came back to save him.

YiHan had that dream many times. He had so hoped that when Feng Qun and those two thugs crashed into “the secret base”, his JingYuan would drop in from the sky. He’d stop those scary men and take him away. But he did know that what’s in the past was the past. There were no what-ifs, no one to save him.

However, this was a dream. Dreams were always about what the dreamer craved the most. Just like now. Nothing’s happened. He was still clean. JingYuan was staying by his side. He really wished this dream could be longer. It’d be great if he never ever woke up from it.

He savoured JingYuan’s roaming palms on his body. A delighted and meek moan escaped his lips. He buried his head in JingYuan’s chest. This dream was wonderful.

GC: Chapter 41

41. Can’t Drown Your Sorrows in Drink

JingYuan didn’t know how many times his heart shattered into pieces over the course of the night. YiHan’s words combined with the sight of a grovelling face on the boy he’d painstakingly protected since childhood caused his heart to crumble into pieces once more.

He carefully scooped his little one into his arms and gently kissed the other on the head. “Yes. I’m here to save you. From today onwards, I will never be angry with you. As long as I’m alive, I will never let anyone harm you ever again,” he sighed.

YiHan let out a chuckle before he shut his eyes tight and clung tight onto JingYuan’s thin waist. “I know,” he whispered. “I’m talking about my dreams. I want to sleep a bit more. Can you stay with me just a while longer…?”

JingYuan felt his gut and heart turn into ice. He hugged his boy back so hard it’s as if he was going to buy YiHan deep into his own flesh and bones. “Sleep. I won’t leave, even if you wake up. I’ll always be with you as long as you’re willing to let me,” he swore in a deep voice.

YiHan was exhausted. Surrounded by an embrace which made him feel safe, he slowly drifted off to sleep.

JingYuan unwaveringly maintained his position. It was only when the boy in his arms was soundly asleep did JingYuan cautiously carry the other up in his arms and softly placed him on the big bed.

Then, JingYuan turned around and searched the closet for a set of sleepwear. He gently changed the other into the new outfit. He spent the entire time trying hard not to look at YiHan’s snowy white body. Tried hard not to touch the other’s soft and tender skin.

JingYuan realised the self-control he was so very proud of had vanished without a trace when it came to YiHan. Even if YiHan wasn’t in the nude, just the sight of that pair of rosy lips set his body ablaze. He was so grateful the little guy didn’t ask him for help to shower. Otherwise, who knew what ruckus would occur?

Once YiHan was fully-dressed in his clean sleepwear, JingYuan was drenched in sweat. He lightly combed the flyaway hairs away from YiHan’s forehead. He stood there before the bed, staring down at the sleeping YiHan. His mind tumbling and rumbling away. He clenched his hands into tight fists, digging his nails into his palms. He forced himself to push away the impulse to kiss YiHan and vehemently turned away and marched to the door. As his hand reached out for the door knob, the paused. He had just promised the little one he’d stay with him. How can he leave while YiHan was asleep?

JingYuan heaved a sigh and turned back. He sat down at the chair by the desk and massaged his aching temples. Tonight’s barrage of incidents was hard for him to adapt to. The changes that’d happened to the boy made him furious and sad. He didn’t know why these changes appeared. He’d only been away for half a month. Why was his little prince in this state?

Beneath his dark gaze brewed a raging typhoon. If this was the fault of someone’s mischief, then that person had better pray he never figure out who they are. Once he knew who they were, he’ll pull the other down to hell or die trying!

He turned to look at the pitiful, small ball of YiHan curled up in bed and let out another heavy sigh. The frustration in his mind had no outlet, no escape. He reached out to the liquor bottles on the desk and took a deep gulp from them.

Time trickled by. The bottles on the table slowly emptied. JingYuan leaned his head against his palm, his elbow on the table. His mind was buzzing with thoughts he couldn’t understand or keep track of. Just then, he heard movement coming from the bed. He hurriedly tried to stand up and go to the other.

Dizziness overwhelmed JingYuan the moment he was fully upright. A bitter smile adorned his face. It looked like he really can’t drown his sorrows in drink. Every time he’d get hammered.

Worried about the little guy on the bed, he hastily strode over to the bed without even waiting for his vision to stop whirling. He stumbled over to find the little one restlessly mumbling about something. He leaned in close to listen. Ah. YiHan wanted to use the bathroom.

JingYuan didn’t know whether to cry or to smile. He shook the emotions out of his head, peeled the blanket away from YiHan and carefully scooped the other up into his arms and to the bathroom. Once in there, he had to hold the boy who refused to open his eyes upright with one arm while helping him pull down his pants with the other. He took a moment to steady himself and cautiously took hold of tiny YiHan. A soft semi-whistle rustled through his teeth. Gently, JingYuan coaxed YiHan into resolving certain bodily functions.

T/N:

This place in the story may be the worst place to talk about this, but here’s some advice: don’t act like JingYuan in his narration/thoughts, especially all the time. Thinking of your significant as little kiddies/babies who need your protection all the time is not healthy. It gives the impression you’re looking down on them. It’s fine if both parties have talked about it and are okay with it but know that it’s a sore topic due to the constant infantilisation issues women used to face. Men back then used the “you’re just a girl who needs my protection” excuse so much to stop women from gaining any independence or equal rights (it’s “too dangerous”/ “for your own good”). Don’t be the dick who sets red flags off then get defensive over it. For those who don’t understand just how bad it can be, I recommend:

The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman A classic short story that’s about a woman who’s suffering from postpartum depression who spirals into insanity due to over-coddling and infantilisation.

JingYuan’s a nice fantasy, but he’s not the best guy early in the story.

GC: Chapter 40

40. Are You Back to Save Me?

JingYuan’s pupils shrank. Blood streaked through his eyes. His entire being shivered at the soft “bang” that left YiHan’s lips. His blood froze.

Why? Why would his little one curse himself with such unprosperous statements? Why would he say he was already dead? That’s akin to stabbing JingYuan in the heart with a sharp knife!

YiHan was clearly the apple of everyone’s eyes. Why would he describe himself as a pitiful and lonely little stray? Just what was going on? Who bullied him? When did Uncle and Aunt get angry at him? Just when did Yan and XueQing start refusing to care about him? Just who made him feel that JingYuan would let him be insulted, jeered at and attacked without doing anything? Just what was YiHan talking about? When did all of that happen? In those 2 weeks JingYuan away on his business trip? Just what happened?

JingYuan’s face clenched and furrowed. A typhoon building beneath his eyes. His grip on YiHan’s arm started to tighten unwittingly.

YiHan flinched. His shoulders shrank inwardly. “It hurts…” he sobbed, but he never did struggle.

As if he had just been woken up from a dream, JingYuan blinked and hurriedly loosened his hand on YiHan. It was clear the little one was drunk. They all say that drunks speak the truth. Aunt Bai did say HanHan suddenly matured after a nightmare. Perhaps everything he mentioned just happened in his dream? Darn it. His HanHan was well-loved. Just why would he have that kind of nightmare?

JingYuan was starting to regret going on a business trip at such a crucial period. It was obvious something significant happened to his little one. Now, he’s as oblivious as an ignorant fool!

Was his departure after their cold war which made YiHan feel unsafe? But that’s no reason YiHan would think the family who adored him to the core would abandon him. Or…did someone imply something which sowed the seed of doubt in YiHan’s mind?

JingYuan looked at the YiHan standing before his eyes, sweet and obedient to the point of just whispering how much his arm hurt instead of shouting and yelling it out. He could feel his heart bleeding. Just what kind of emotional attack did his proud and roaring little tiger suffer to turn it into a cute little rabbit? This was simply unforgiveable!

Raging bloodlust flashed through JingYuan’s eyes, yet his hands gently unravelled YiHan from his jacket. “I’m sorry, HanHan. I didn’t mean to hurt you. Let me see your arm? Is it swollen?” JingYuan softly apologised.

However, just as JingYuan finished unbuttoning YiHan’s shirt, YiHan screeched and rapidly backpedalled. He frantically burrowed under the table, curled himself into a tiny call and gripped tight at his clothes.

“Don’t do this. Please. I beg you. Don’t. Kill me. Just kill me…” YiHan sobbed.

Stunned, JingYuan’s arms remained outstretched. His two eyes bore into the person under the table. His chest heaved and his blood whirled in a frenzy. He was so furious that he could just roar and yell right then and there.

Just! What! Happened?

JingYuan stood still. Violent puffs of air whooshed through his nostrils. He closed his eyes and took a few deep breaths. Only then did he bent down, a knee against the floor, and gently cajoled, “HanHan, come out. It’s fine. Look at me. It’s Mu JingYuan. Your JingYuan. Do you hate me?”

The cautious face he was met with was overflowing with tears. YiHan blinked away the tears in his eyes. After a careful look at the man before him, he felt even more upset. He pushed himself out from under the table and threw himself into JingYuan’s arms. “

“Didn’t you leave? Weren’t you never ever going to come back again? Why are you back?” YiHan softly grumbled. He warily looked up at JingYuan, a grovelling smile on his lips. “Are you back to save me? You’re not angry at me anymore?” he timidly asked.

GC: Chapter 39

39. I’m Dead

JingYuan couldn’t stop YiHan in time. He watched as YiHan chugged down half a bottle of strong liquor. Panicked, he rushed over to snatch away the bottle. “Dearest, this is alcohol,” he said in an exasperated voice.

Only then did YiHan realised what he drank. A burning blaze ran through his throat and into his stomach. He cleared his throat and awkwardly replied, “A-Alcohol? Why would there be alcohol in my room?” As he said so, he looked up and around. “This is my room” he continued in a confused yet depressed tone.

Looking at YiHan’s befuddled figure, JingYuan was speechless. He was laughing. He was furious. He didn’t know what to say. The only answer he could give was, “It’s fine. You’ve already drank it. Dr Chen did say you can have some to help you sleep.”

“Is that so? Since I’ll be sleeping, it’s fine to have some,” YiHan drily smiled. Having said so, he opened up another bottle and took a big gulp out of it.

“…” Why is it alcohol again? JingYuan warily glanced at the table. By the gods, all of the bottles on the side table were alcohol! The water jug was placed at the very end!

YiHan loved to play but his alcohol tolerance levels were exceedingly low. He’s the kind that would fall over after one glass. When he’s out playing, no one would dare to force him to drink anyway. The vast amounts of alcohol he’d just downed made his head spin. The tiny YiHan within his mind seemed to be banging his head against the floor. Gods, let me be reborn once more! I’ve completely humiliated myself before JingYuan!

Of course, JingYuan knew just how badly YiHan could hold his drink. When he saw YiHan take another big gulp, his eyes nearly popped out. “Fine. I’ll help you into the shower. Then, you sleep,” he said with a helpless smile.

The liquor was getting to YiHan. His head was rather numb, but he still caught on to the keyword, “shower”. He reacted with a great big leap backwards and shouted, “No way. I don’t need you to shower me!”

JingYuan’s gaze darkened. “Why not? It’s not like I haven’t washed you before.”

“That’s different!” YiHan said.

“How so?” JingYuan took a step closer to YiHan.

YiHan paused and thought about it. “Before, I was clean,” he said miserably, “But now my body is so very dirty. I can’t let you see it,”

JingYuan didn’t understand. Did YiHan not shower yesterday? He took another step forward and replied, “It’s because your body’s dirty that you have to shower.”

YiHan’s hands clenched tight around his hair. He swayed and shook his head. “I can’t wash it off. I can’t get clean. There were so many people. So dirty…I’ll never be clean…”

JingYuan still didn’t understand what YiHan was going on about, but he couldn’t bear watching YiHan go on like this. He strode forward and embraced YiHan. “Okay, okay. No showering. It’s fine. Good boy.”

When YiHan heard the word “good”, his head bopped like mad. “I’m good. I’m a very good boy. Don’t abandon me,” he mumbled.

JingYuan’s heart felt like it could die. Unwittingly, he kissed YiHan’s forehead. “How could I abandon you? Even if you’re not a good boy, I won’t ever abandon you,” he said.

The emotions YiHan kept suppressed burst out once more. “You’re a liar. I don’t believe you. In another year or so, you’ll leave. You won’t ever return. You won’t care if others insulted me. You don’t care if others beat me up. I’ll die. Are you happy? I won’t keep bothering you. You can happily fly off with Sis. I’ll die. I won’t ever trouble you again,” he softly sobbed.

JingYuan froze. His gaze hardened. The air around his crackled and turned to ice. “What are you prattling about?” he harshly said, “Why do you keep mentioning you’re going to die?”

YiHan flinched. “I’m already dead,” he lightly retorted in anguish, “You all keep saying I’m just a little fool, but I’m really smart. I feinted and made that policeman fire and hit here.” He tapped the spot over his heart with a finger as he said so. With a sly smile, he continued, “With a bang, I died. Dead is good. I died and came back. Everything was still the same as before. Father and Mother aren’t angry at me. Brother and Sis are still willing to talk to me. You haven’t left. I’m so happy.”

GC: Chapter 38

38. Let Me Go

But what’s going on now? The room was very quiet. So quiet that the only thing that could be heard were his and JingYuan’s breathing. Gods, his unreliable family actually just left him to JingYuan without care. Really? It didn’t occur to YiHan to consider just who was the one who insisted to clinging on to JingYuan’s clothes. But even if he let go, JingYuan had no plans on letting him go.

What should he do now? Play dead? That’s a good plan!

Nevertheless, reality was cruel. Because of YiHan’s body locking up, JingYuan had noticed he wasn’t mad with hysteria anymore.

“HanHan, how do you feel? Do you want some water?” JingYuan asked.

“…”

There was no way to keep playing dead. All YiHan could do was look up, but he didn’t dare look into JingYuan’s eyes. Upon realising he was still sitting in JingYuan’s lap, he hurried to get on his feet.

“I’m fine. I’ll be okay once I sleep. You can head back,” came a rush of garbled words.

JingYuan held YiHan’s wriggling body tightly. He turned YiHan’s head around until he was looking straight into YiHan’s eyes. Sadness flashed across his eyes.

“HanHan, can you tell me why you’re angry? Why are you so angry to the point of ignoring me? What are you unsatisfied with? Please tell it to me straight?” JingYuan said.

Forced to gaze into the eyes of the man he loved, YiHan’s weak heart thumped and raced. When he saw the hurt in JingYuan’s eyes, his heart ached in anguish. All he could do was stammer.

“I-I’m fine. I-It’s just…I was in a bad mood before. I threw my anger around. It’s all my fault. I-I won’t do it again.” Don’t worry. I’ve decided never to throw a temper tantrum with you again. I’ll be good. So, please don’t leave me again. Just let me be able to look at you.

JingYuan did not look happy as YiHan had thought he would. Instead, he hugged YiHan tight in his arms.

“Little fool, who wants your apology? No matter what you do, my little prince, you never need to apologise,” he said, pain in his voice. Just who scared his roaring tiger cub into a quivering little rabbit? Feng Qun? Then, be prepared to bear the full brunt of his rage!

YiHan dryly chuckled. No need to apologise? You certainly don’t need apologies. You’ll just turn away and leave. Never to return. Even if I’m being humiliated, even if I die in a miserable corner all alone, you’ll never look back at me. Leaving me to die a restless ghost.

YiHan was stunned. His heart wasn’t really empty of hate. He hated his family for not believing him. Even in his most painful moments, they weren’t willing to lend a hand. He hated JingYuan for spoiling him rotten yet left without hesitation. But what right did he have to hate? Everything happened because of his arrogance and stupidity. All the bitter fruits he reaped could only go down his throat. No one in this world was obliged to love him, to spoil him, for his whole life.

A few more chuckles escaped YiHan’s throat. He tried once more to reach the ground, but JingYuan’s embrace only grew tighter. All he heard was JingYuan’s voice.

“HanHan, are you still angry with me?” he asked.

YiHan let out a weak sigh. “N-No,” he mumbled.

JingYuan’s voice was filled with bitter agony. “You still deny it. If you aren’t, why would you push me away? Just what should I do to soothe your fury? Tell me, please?”

“I’m really not. Let me go,” YiHan said in a helpless, dejected tone.

JingYuan finally let go and YiHan swiftly hopped to the ground. When YiHan turned around, he was petrified. JingYuan’s face was filled with torment and pain which he’d been unable to hide in time.

YiHan’s heart ached even further. Overwhelmed, he raised his hand to caress JingYuan’s face. When it was halfway in the air, something struck his mind and he hurriedly withdrew his hand. But JingYuan who’d been focusing on him caught it. JingYuan looked at the boy trying to hide from him. With a pained smile, he changed the topic.

“Do you want some water?” he asked.

“Ah, right. I’m thirsty. I’ll have some,” YiHan rushed out. In a panicked frenzy, he grabbed a bottle from the table without looking to see what it was, pulled out the cork and poured its contents straight into his mouth.

LC: Chapter 44

44. Holiday

“Ah, right. LuckyCat, remember to open the guild chat,” messaged Egg_Tart to XiaoYu who had just finished looking through his new skills and was being dragged through the roads and alleyways of Prole by HereticKing.

XiaoYu looked through the list of channels to find the words Guild Chat, which was greyed out for him previously. He changed his settings so the Guild Chat would show up and immediately a long screen that went from his head to the ground appeared. The Guild Chat.

[Guild Notification]: Welcome, LuckyCat.

SleepEveryDay: Welcome, new friend. *claps*

WorkEveryDay: Clap clap clap.

Winnie: Lucky cat? Lucky charm?

CrazinessLeavesScars: Bearie, are you worried about your place as our lucky charm?

Winnie: No. I gladly welcome him to take my place.

Flute_In_The_Wind: Why don’t you two just combine? Then, our guild’s lucky mascot will be the panda.

 Broken-Winged-Angel: Good idea. Fuse up!

Winnie: Shoo. I should be retiring. LuckyCat, please take over the baton.

CrazinessLeavesScars: Bearie, you can’t force them.

Winnie: You guys forced me to at the start!

Flute_In_The_Wind: You’ve all scared them. The little one’s too afraid to speak up.

SleepEveryDay: They probably forgot to turn on Guild Chat.

WorkEveryDay: Agreed.

LuckyCat: Hi, everyone. I’ll be in your care from now on.

CrazinessLeavesScars: Aah. I found LuckyCat’s profile. So cute! Give me a kiss.

SleepEveryDay: 囧

WorkEveryDay: 冏

Winnie: Oh, that avatar. You’re the healer who flew the Prole-3 flights, right? I recall you have a pet cat.

LuckyCat: Yes.

Winnie: That’s it then. From now on, you and your pet cat are our lucky charms.

LuckyCat: Ah?

Flute_In_The_Wind: Don’t listen to him, LuckyCat.

Winnie: Hey, why does everyone bully me?

Broken-Winged-Angel: Because we love you. Haven’t you heard? To love is to bully.

SM_Queen: Whipping in agreement.

CrazinessLeavesScars: Why are you ignoring me, LuckyCat? I’m so sad.

LuckyCat: I’m not. Hello.

CrazinessLeavesScars: Good boy.

Winnie: This is double standards!

Flute_In_The_Wind: Yes. We treat you so well, yet you’re not satisfied.

Winnie: Bleurgh.

XiaoYu happily laughed as he read the bustling guild chat. That made HereticKing who’d been ignored for a long time very unhappy. The tiny cat was also hanging off XiaoYu’s shoulders, napping. HereticKing felt that if he sold these two cats right now, they wouldn’t react to it. Perhaps the small cat might gleefully help him count the money out.

“What’s made you so happy?” asked HereticKing.

“Ah. The guild’s very lively,” replied XiaoYu.

“Uneasy about it?”

“No. I like this atmosphere.”

“That’s good.”

“Where are we going?” It was only then that XiaoYu realised he was on a big ship.

“Selling you off.”

“Haah?”

“I’m joking.” The goofy sight of XiaoYu’s dazed and frightened form turned HereticKing’s mood from stormy grey to the refreshing blue sky that appear out after the storm has passed.

“Oh. Hehe.”

“What’s with the foolish chuckle while staring at me?”

“I didn’t think you’d crack that kind of joke.”

“Should I have a poker face on all the time? Like this?” HereticKing put on a serious and sombre face.

“Pfft. You look weird.”

As they laughed and joked around, land began to emerge from the horizon before the boat.

“We’ll be there soon.”

“This is Holiday Island?”

“Yes. That’s the nickname players gave it. San Raphaelus is its official name due to Raphaelus, the Level 110 mer-prince boss in the underwater city beneath the island.”

While the lower depths of the island were filled with strong monsters, the island’s surface and beaches were still safe. The only worry was an aggressive Level 100 mer-soldier. It was a soldier sent from beneath the sea to patrol the island surface.

However, Asgard Online players have long figured out the rules it acted on. It would only patrol the beach near the sea. A full patrol of the island took 10 hours. If one saw it, walking slightly inland would be enough to avoid it. Furthermore, the average Level of AO were much higher now. It’s not hard to just kill it.

There were no Revival Points on the island and this place couldn’t be marked with Teleport. Thus, the main mode of transport to the island was through a scheduled boat trip which takes an hour. Of course, players could sail over themselves. As long as they’re not afraid of getting lost and stranded in the middle of the sea.

The moment they stepped out of the small port, the unique tropical scenery of the island enveloped them. The crystal blue seawater, the white sandy beach, and a thick forest which only grew thicker the closer they got to the heart of the island.

They walked along the beach until a row of identical tiny cottages appeared before their eyes. The houses were built along the border between the beach and the forest. Available to the visiting tourists as a place to dine and stay, players could also rent equipment here.

Not many players would choose to be at this island early in the morning. HereticKing and XiaoYu looked around for a less crowded plot of beach, rented some beach-related gear from the shop behind them, plopped their beach umbrella down, unfurled their beach chairs, and changed into bright and colourful swim shorts. They were the very image of holidaying humans.

Those garish swim shorts really must be given the limelight here. As soon as they were put on, all other equipped gear would be automatically taken off, including the singlet players wore under their clothes at all times. Wasn’t that extremely dangerous? No, it wasn’t. Once a player equipped them, they would be “Protected” by the game. That meant they couldn’t be PvP-ed. They could still be attacked by mobs. Of course, since there’s only a mer-warrior on the whole island, there wouldn’t be any other mobs appearing next to the player unless they were so bored as to wander over 100 meters under the sea levels. Additionally, these swim shorts would self-destruct once they were 10 nautical miles away from the island.

As XiaoYu never tweaked a single modifier for his avatar’s physical form, the game rendered a very realistic version of his own body. His skin was quite pale from rarely being bathed by sunlight, but his figure wasn’t sickly. Before he entered Asgard Online, XiaoYu didn’t just sit around and game. He worked out. Hence, even if he didn’t have obvious ab lines, he wasn’t as thin as a stick that’d go flying away at the slightest breeze.

Nevertheless, when compared to HereticKing, XiaoYu still looked rather thin and tiny. There was nothing to be done about that. His bone structure wasn’t as big as HereticKing’s. He also didn’t have special sports equipment in his home. No matter how much he exercised, he’d never be able to achieve the kind of muscles that adorn HereticKing’s body – solid yet not overwhelming.

XiaoYu snuck a few glances at HereticKing’s body. As a male, XiaoYu was naturally very envious of the other. He pinched and twisted the flesh on his own body and let out a sigh. There was no hope for him to get that kind of body through training, but there was still some hope if it was done through diet.

HereticKing knew XiaoYu was secretly looking at him. He was rather confident in his own body. Conversely, in his eyes, XiaoYu’s figure was considered malnourished. It really made him wonder if this kid’s real-life diet was the same as his in-game diet – bitter and hard carrots all the way through.

While this was a game, one still had to warm up before swimming. If a muscle cramped up, they’d start losing health and risk drowning. The tiny cat, unwilling to just be a bystander, mimicked them. It bent and twisted and stretched, just like an actual human warming up. An accidental glance at it made the two, who’d been solemnly bending over in a stretch, instantly crumble with mirth.

“I bow down before your kitten. It really loves mimicking you,” HereticKing commented.

“Hehe. It’s probably due to the high Intimacy score,” XiaoYu chuckled.

“It’s been high since the Newbie Village?” Intimacy levels usually rose with a snail’s pace. It would take at least ten days to half a month to get a pet’s Intimacy score maxed out. The first time HereticKing saw LuckyCat, the other must’ve been playing for two days at most.

“Its Intimacy score was maxed as soon as it was born…Huh? Newbie Village?” XiaoYu was really curious as to how HereticKing knew the small cat was with him at the Newbie Village. It made him recall a particular embarrassing moment back then…

“Yes. A rare trip back to the village showed me two cats swearing they’ll work hard to earn money at the sky.”

“That…The one who laughed was you?” XiaoYu couldn’t believe it.

The “Yup. That’s me” look on HereticKing’s face showed him otherwise.

“Vwoom!” XiaoYu’s face was as red as a tomato. Aaaah…He really wished he could just bury his head into the sands under him and pretend to be an ostrich. Such a humiliating moment was actually witnessed by someone he knew.

HereticKing could never grow tired of poking fun at XiaoYu. Perhaps it was because he’d been constantly teased by his older brother growing up. He’d always been hoping for a younger brother he could protect and “bully”. Perhaps it was because XiaoYu felt different to his other friends. Whenever he’s with XiaoYu, his mind would unwittingly relax.

“Alright. The two cats can go play now.” HereticKing ruffled XiaoYu’s hair. Just as he expected, it felt so much nicer without the headdress.

“Mn.” XiaoYu scooped the tiny cat into his arms and hopped into the water. He needed the cooling sea to help cool him down.

Don’t judge that tiny shop they rented their equipment from by its ratty appearance. It had everything a shop like that should have. XiaoYu took out an inflatable miniature rubber boat from his inventory and placed the little cat on it. Then, he let the boat loose to sway with the waves.

The tiny cat wasn’t afraid at all. It crouched down on the swaying float and stared wide-eyed down into the water. Once in a while it’d splash and tapped at the water as if it spotted numerous fishes. XiaoYu stroked its head to remind it to take care not to flip the rubber boat. Who knew if it really understood him? It squinted its eyes in comfort and lightly meowed.

XiaoYu took it as the little one’s acknowledgement and let himself loose. Leaning back, he drifted on the water beside the boat, swaying to and fro with the waves.

The memory of his father teaching him how to swim when he was still a child floated to the front of his mind. Back then, he looked just like a little kitten. Just like a cat, he was deathly afraid of water. He refused to enter any bodies of water. Whenever his father had spare time, he’d drag XiaoYu to the swimming pool for training time after time with infinite patience. He even promised XiaoYu that once he knew how to swim, the whole family would go for a holiday at the beach. Teeny XiaoYu didn’t understand what going on a holiday meant. All he knew were there’d be a lot of tasty food, no school and sand to play with. He forced himself to hold the fear in and learn how to swim. Finally, he overcame his fear of water.

The two cats were both floating safely in the sea. While XiaoYu looked somewhat like a drowned corpse, the smile hanging on the corners of his mouth, as if he was recalling something pleasant, made HereticKing let go of his worry. He walked slightly further away from the two drifters and dove into the sea.

Time flowed along just like the white fluffy clouds hanging in the sky. Slowly yet surely.

As afternoon arrived, more and more players started trickling into the island. Beautiful bikini-clad players filled the area. The sight made the blood of the male players who came here for a hunt thrum. All of that however were none of the two men’s and a cat’s business. HereticKing and XiaoYu had long waded back to shore. They lay on their little chairs, sipping the colourful specialty drinks of the island, watching the tiny cat pouncing and playing on them, lazily chatting, enjoying a luxurious and carefree afternoon. Unbeknownst to them, there were many lady players with blazing eyes secretly taking pictures of them. Through an unspoken agreement, those pictures were all named “Family of Three”.

In this era, homosexual relations were legal globally and were extremely common. Still, gossip and curiosity were natural parts of a female, especially when it involved attractive humans. Immediately, ten thousand different kinds of stories about love and hate were being written out in their minds. It made one squirm with excitement. The top with mouth-watering, perfect body and face, plus the sweet and pure bottom with that cute smile, along with an adorable pet cat; they were the ultimate source material for a few perverted fantasies.

The sun descended down west. The crowds on the beach gradually left, especially the high-level players. No one had forgotten that today was Saturday – Guild Wars day.

HereticKing and XiaoYu changed back into their gear and packed up. Just as they were about to return the hired gear back to the NPC shop, two bikini-clad sexy women arrived. They’d ran over from another part of the beach. The moment they saw HereticKing’s equipment, they knew he was a high-level player. Their eyes gleamed.

“Mr Knight, the mer-soldier is here. Can you help us kill it?” they asked.

“Sure.” HereticKing thought it was a good opportunity for XiaoYu to practice his new skill – Holy Light. With XiaoYu in tow, he headed towards the direction the two players pointed to.

The mer-soldier was currently marching along the beach with its small trident, as calm as if it was just taking a leisurely stroll. Occasionally, it’d stop and surveyed his surroundings. The ideal model of a serious soldier doing his duty.

“Try using Holy Light. I’ll tank. You attack.” HereticKing threw a Taunt to attract the mer-soldier’s attention. XiaoYu began chanting Holy Light. As his Proficiency was low, the chanting took three long seconds. But with a tank, there was no danger.

Thus, the few female players on the beach were able to witness the mer-soldier’s most unsatisfactory death ever. In times before, it had always been able to die a glorious death after a magnificent battle against a crowd of players. Yet this time, its health was slowly and forcefully ground down to nothing by the Holy Light of a healer half its level while it kept attempting to stab at an agile knight who evaded every poke it tried.

Translator’s Notes:

  1. Looking through new skills: The phrased used here was “learn all the Priest skills”. This was probably a typo on the author’s part as A.O. lets you have all the skills with the usual Proficiency levels. Traditionally, one would have to gain skill points and assign them accordingly. Ragnarok Online was a game that one had to plan their skills carefully as there were more skill levels available than there were skill points per class/job. Hence, this phrase has been translated to mean XiaoYu read through the skills that weren’t listed previously (i.e. he looked through his Priest skills). This meant that Bishops were basically Priests with 2 extra skills – Incremento and Obsecro.
  2. Panda: Bear (Winnie) + Cat (XiaoYu) = Chinese for panda.

GC: Chapter 37

37. In His Arms?

“He can’t be here that fast, but he won’t be long,” Bai FuRen lightly soothed Ma.

As he said so, Doctor Chen arrived. Panting and sweating, he was led straight up the stairs by Aunt Yang.

“Finally, you’re here. Doctor Chen, come take a look at HanHan,” Ma immediately said as soon as Doctor Chen entered her sight.

No matter how mad Doctor Chen was, there was no time for him to catch his breath. He hurried over to check up on YiHan. However, YiHan was extremely uncooperative. He wouldn’t even let Dr Chen touch him.

Dr Chen bustled and worked until he was drenched in sweat. Finally, he was done. He looked up to YiHan’s parents and said, “He’s fine. Just in shock. With some warm water to drink and a good night’s sleep, maybe a few, and he’ll be fine. If he can’t sleep, then he can get something to help him. Suitable amounts of alcohol or something. The point is to calm him down.”

“That’s great,” Yan said. “Please, Doctor Chen, stay here tonight. If anything arises with our little brother, you can respond in time then. Aunt Yang, please arrange a room for the doctor.”

Aunt Yang swiftly responded in acknowledgment.

Doctor Chen agreed verbally but, on the inside, he was rolling his eyes. It’s just shock. They called in such a panic that he thought something major happened. Now, they want him to stay for the night. Nothing was wrong with this Little Master at all. What can happen?

However, he wouldn’t be so foolish as to try and talk some sense into this family. What a joke. How can one talk about sense and rationality with a family of son-cons and bro-cons? He’ll just stay. It’s only one night.

YiHan was still not willing to let go of JingYuan and JingYuan couldn’t bear to let him go. The whole family can’t just stay in YiHan’s room. JingYuan looked up at the Bai family.

“Uncle, Aunt, Yan, XueQing, go back to your rooms. Rest. I’ll stay here with him tonight. Don’t worry,” he said.

FuRen glanced at his young son. “Then, please do. If there’s anything you need, we’re just a shout away,” he said with a nod.

JingYuan solemnly nodded. The Bai family all knew just how much JingYuan adored their little son/brother. They can relax with YiHan in his hands. Just look at how he carefully embraced YiHan. One could tell that he truly cherished YiHan. Thus, without any dissent, the family dispersed.

XueQing was the last to leave the room. She looked back and dazed deep into JingYuan’s eyes. He looked back, not a single hint of avoidance.

A soft sigh left XueQing’s lips. It seemed the possibility of this marvellous man being hers was very slim.

Aunt Yang took Doctor Chen’s words to heart. She headed downstairs and brought a few bottles of excellent liquor up to YiHan’s room. Then, she tiptoed out of the room and shut the door behind her.

The room fell into silence. JingYuan tenderly kissed YiHan’s shimmering forehead. His hand gently patting at YiHan’s back in an attempt to soothe YiHan’s emotions.

YiHan’s mental state was as if he’d just woken up from a nightmare regarding his past life. Zoned out and dazed. In reality, the entire time just before he died in his past life, he’d frequently fallen into such a foggy frame of mind. He suspected that something was wrong with his mind due to all those horrible things he went through, and those problems were brought with him to the present.

After such a long period of being soothed, his mind was wide awake. He’s just hiding due to momentary shame. After all, being scared into hysteria by a lackey was certainly something that’s quite unbelievable. Everything hadn’t happened yet. How should he answer his family if asked?

He can’t think of any explanation. Thus, he decided to just bury himself in JingYuan’s arms for a while longer. Wait! JingYuan’s arms?

His body froze. Yes. It was currently four years ago. He’d not fought with JingYuan to the point of no return yet. They were still at the phase of his one-sided temper tantrum. He hadn’t voiced out those filthy thoughts yet. So, JingYuan was still willing to hug him, to hold him, to coax him. Look at that gentle patting motion. Wasn’t that the action of someone soothing a child?

Ever since his rebirth, he’d always felt as if he was unable to face JingYuan. While his greatest wish prior to his death previously was to meet JingYuan once more, now that he’s here, he’d turned into a great big coward. Constantly avoiding a proper interaction with JingYuan to prevent himself from losing his mind and acting out.

LC: Chapter 43

43. Joining the Guild

“Congratulations,” HereticKing and I_Am_A_Poor_Man said as the golden glow signalling a successful Job change dissipated from XiaoYu’s body.

However, XiaoYu didn’t respond at all. He kept staring at the pop-up dialogues. He had been knocked off guard by the long string of notifications.

“Congratulations, player LuckyCat, for becoming the hidden class of the Acolyte class – Bishop.”

“System Reward Chest +1.”

“Stat Point +1.”

“Weapon, The Saint’s Bible, +1.”

“Bishop special skill, Incremento, obtained.”

“Bishop special skill, Obsecro, obtained.”

“Do you wish to hide your class?”

“XiaoYu?”

“Huh…yeah?” XiaoYu’s mind was snapped back to reality by HereticKing’s voice.

“Yes.” XiaoYu hurriedly selected “yes” on the last dialogue box. He had always been one to lay low.

“What is it?”

“I should’ve turned into a priest, right?” The forums clearly said he would be a Priest, then a High Priest.

“Hah? Of course. There’s no need to question that.” Curious, I_Am_A_Poor_Man opened his Friends tab and looked at XiaoYu’s Job. “Priest” was written. “You’re a Priest, aren’t you?”

“No. I hid it,” XiaoYu replied.

“Could it be…a hidden job?” Poor_Man’s eyes gleamed.

“Mn.” XiaoYu shared to the party the true Stats tab that only he could read.

“So the hidden job of the healer class is the Bishop,” I_Am_A_Poor_Man mused with a hand on his chin. Hidden jobs were an open secret in Asgard Online. Since the public announcement of the first hidden job being discovered, the Paladin, no other hidden job discoveries would be announced server-wide. So only the ones who discovered a hidden job would know what exactly they were and what made it special. “But I am curious why you could become a Bishop. Was it because of the 500 kill counts?”

“A Bishop must be somebody who can offer their services up to all citizens without gripe or hate. Player LuckyCat didn’t complain about paying the fine,” said the priest. The sudden answer to I_Am_A_Poor_Man’s question frightened everyone. With a disparaging side glance thrown at Poor_Man who had been whining about the cash-grabbing game systems, the priest continued, “He showed no signs of anger or regret at the multiplication of quest goals. Such dedication to the priesthood had moved us. Thus, the Church decided to allow player LuckyCat to attain the secret job. We hope you can stay true to your beliefs and work, for the Church and for humanity.”

“I see. Xiao-Yu, do you have any special skills?”

“Yup.” He opened up his Skills tab and shared it with the party too.

Incremento: Increases all stats by 5% for 24 hours. Consequently, all stats will drop by 3% afterwards for 24 hours. Casting time: Instant. Cooldown: 48 hours. Can only be used on caster. Levels up according to Proficiency levels. Max increase: 20%. Max decrease: 15%.

Obsecro: After prayer, all stats will increase by 10% for 3 hours. Casting time: 1 minute. Requires Bible x1. Can only be used on other players. Levels up according to Proficiency. Max increase: 50%.

“Bible…I think the human Elites and Bosses from the Dark Cult would drop that,” muttered I_Am_A_Poor_Man. The bible mentioned was an item, not a weapon. As no player knew what it was used for, everyone either sold it to the NPCs or kept them as souvenirs.

The Dark Cult was a major enemy in Asgard Online. As such, Dark Cult mobs ranged from Level 90 to 150. Elite mobs were usually as powerful as normal mobs 10 levels higher than they were. Minions and small packs of monsters followed them around. They were akin to a mini-boss. Thus, the number of Bibles one could collect just from the marketplace was rather limited.

“Change our training grounds,” HereticKing said.

“Yes. I was thinking that too. I’ll discuss it with the other party leaders later.” Of course, Poor_Man wouldn’t tell the others why. The more who know, the more troublesome things get.

“XiaoYu, I’m glad you believe in us but don’t just tell others, got it?” solemnly said HereticKing with a hand on XiaoYu’s shoulder. It wasn’t because he wanted his own guild to be the only one to have use of the Bishop’s special skills, but because he didn’t want XiaoYu to be harmed anymore. There were too many in the world he couldn’t destroy who were weak to envy. BattleOverlord was only one of many.

“I know.” XiaoYu only told HereticKing and I_Am_A_Poor_Man because he truly trusted them from the bottom of his heart. He couldn’t really say why.

“Sorry I’m late.” In walked a male wizard with a knock on the door.

“Just in time, Eggy! Xiao-Yu just finished his Job Change. Yay!” I_Am_A_Poor_Man was immediately struck by a bolt of lightning. Fortunately for him, PvP was banned in the capital. Thus, I_Am_A_Poor_Man only felt a slight tingle and not be turned into a puddle of blood and gore.

“Call me that again and we’ll be in the PvP Arena,” said the wizard.

“Meanie,” Poor_Man pouted.

“Hi, Chief Heretic,” the male wizard greeted, getting a small nod in return.

“Hi. My name is Egg_Tart. Suicide Squad Guild Leader, a branch guild of Heretic Demons.” Egg_Tart stretched a hand out to XiaoYu.

“Hi. I’m LuckyCat,” XiaoYu replied with a handshake.

“Ding.” A dialogue box popped up before XiaoYu’s eyes.

“Player Egg_Tart has invited you to join the guild, Heretic Demons: Suicide Squad. Would you like to accept?”

“Yes.”

Another beam of white light shone on XiaoYu. The bloody wing logo of Heretic Demons appeared on XiaoYu’s left arm and the light slowly faded away.

“Welcome to the clan,” said Egg_Tart.

“Mn. I’ll train hard.”

Why not just join the main guild? Because the minimum requirement for the main guild was Level 85. Then, there were interviews with all the different leaders. If they broke the rules just because they wanted to, then there was a chance anger and gossip would spread in the guild about XiaoYu. It’d be hard for XiaoYu to have a calm time in there. HereticKing wanted to XiaoYu’s prowess to be acknowledged by everyone and not just the few higher-ups. He believed that XiaoYu’s character would make him liked by all.

“When do you play? We start group training 12 pm every Sunday. It’s best that you can join us,” asked Egg_Tart.

“I’m free every day. I only need to go to sleep right before 11 pm,” XiaoYu replied.

“Then there’ll be no problems. From this Sunday onwards, you’ll start training with one of the parties. I’ll introduce you then.”

“Thank you, Mr Egg.” Egg_Tart’s face twitched at the name XiaoYu decided to call him.

“Pfft. Leader Eggy,” Poor_Man blurted.

“You. PvP Arena with me later.” Egg_Tart pointed his staff, topped with a red gem, at I_Am_A_Poor_Man. Frankly, the two had fought each other countless times over the “Eggy” nickname. However, Egg_Tart had never been able to fry Poor_Man to death. (He’s a lightning wizard.) And so, I_Am_A_Poor_Man held no fear and would happily call out “Eggy” every time they met up.

“Chief, do you need to train today?” After throwing another glare at Poor_Man, Egg_Tart turned to HereticKing.

“No,” HereticKing replied.

“Then, could you lend me this guy?” This guy meaning I_Am_A_Poor_Man.

“Sure.”

“Chief, you can’t abandon me. I don’t want to be chased around by lightning!” Although Poor_Man knew Eggy couldn’t kill him with his lightning, the sight of lightning bolts striking down at him was still scary. A single mistake and his clothes would be burned to a crisp.

“He’s yours.” HereticKing pulled XiaoYu out of the Acolyte Job Change room and ignored the lively fellow behind him.

“Where are we going?”

“It must’ve been tiring grinding for days straight. Let’s relax at the Holiday Island.”

“Oh.”

Translator’s Note:

Jjwxc finally fixed the coding loophole where one could read the “unlocked” chapters of a “locked” novel. Good for them, bad for us. That means if there were any extras, amendments or author notes which are usually not copied over by pirates, there’s no way to read them anymore. The main issue seems to be the words, or words related to, “chrysanthemum”, “bullying”, “killing”, homosexual/phobic jokes like raping the other in the butt, and many more that I couldn’t decipher. The bots went through it in waves. Unless someone has the full and comprehensive list of keywords they’re scanning for, we’ll never know why a PG-rated web-novel, with all the homosexual/phobic jokes a typical shounen/shoujo would have, is now under fire. If it’s about the sexuality, then hurray for…less homophobic jokes? Because the word “rape” is still okay by the censors (for now).
